Pretty Good Games Corp was founded in 2007 with the mission of serving players
the content they want the best possible manner. We consider usability and attention to small details
our particular specialty in the games we make.
Pretty Good Games' founder, Michael Scholz has been a professional game developer since 1997.
In the past ten years he has designed games for Sierra Online, he helped create WildTangent, Inc.
during the beginning of the Internet casual game phenomenon, as well as having worked on Xbox,
PS2, and GameCube titles for Vivendi and THQ. Before starting Pretty Good Games, Michael was the
director of technology for FUN Technologies’ SkillJam skill game development group.
At SkillJam the PGG principles built the industry’s best online skill games and
deployed them to over 70 websites and 6 languages, including sites for Virgin Games, Microsoft,
and AOL. Those skill games illustrated the competitive play and game design principles that PGG
takes to heart.
The SkillJam team’s greatest success was creating the World Wide
Web Games championship, a tournament with a $1 million dollar prize giveaway
that vividly demonstrated the growth and energy of the casual game market.
Seventy-one contestants from around the globe flew to Hollywood to compete in
the daylong tournament. Kavitha Yalavarthi was crowned the "World's Best Casual
Gamer," after defeating the field at the games of Solitaire, Bejeweled 2, and
Zuma.
